Any ABers any views on staying at a Travelodge? I understand you can sleep four to a room for around fifty pounds per night, very reasonable rates. Any comments?

I have stayed in them quite often and they are very good value.  You usually end up spending more than you expect by having a meal and the restaurants can be quite expensive so if you took some food with you it might be an idea.   I have always found them clean and quite acceptable.

i love 'em. haven't stayed in one for a while, but i find them an ideal little bolthole when you need to get away from the natural world.

great for clandestine tristes, too!

Good value - and they don't seem to mind how many people you cram in a room. - The kingsize bed can sleep three at a pinch and there's usually a sofa that serves as a single bed and another pull out bed under the sofa.  Always clean - not always so quiet - the city ones can be very noisy - the one at Kings Cross overlooks the platforms and trains run until about midnight and start again at 5am.

Is the sofa and the single bed already made up with bedding? Or do you have to make it up yourself if you need it? And do you have to collect the bedding for the sofa/single bed yourself? Many thanks for all replies.
try the search for "tenner rooms" or "25gbp room" currently on offer
the bedding for the sofa bed is in the room and you have to make it up yourself. You can't actually sleep four people in a room, its 2 adults and 2 children (I think they have to be under 14) the sofa beds are quite short so if the person sleeping on the sofa bed/pull out bed is taller than about 5ft4 I wouldn't recommend it, I went to one last summer and slept on the sofa bed and didn't find it quite long enough (I'm just 5ft3)
