Just as I was about to post the laptop did a "thing" and I lost everything!
So come on in everybody, Igor is at the door waiting to gather up all your coats and cloaks and broomsticks so he can hide them all over the Towers.
Queenie sends her regrets, she won't be joining us this evening her dad has taken her to a speedway meeting to cheer her up a bit
The Tailcock for tonight is the "Sunny Evening"
The hot plate special tonight is a Toad in the Hole with onion gravy (Frank the minion went on a toad hunt and every one he caught went into tonight's dish) as always there are the world famous, volly vonts, horses doovers and canopies and on our pudding trolley there we have a tarte tatin with whipped cream.
The Minstrels have got in again and they are already up in the gallery playing their madrigals and toccattas. For members wishing to dance we have engaged the services of the Wilf Bumstead Swing Band and they will be playing down in the Ball Room. All our usual entertainments are available to members, the indoor pool, the bungee, hot tub, and library are all open to members and as we are now into warmer weather and lighter evenings we have opened up te gardens and grounds for members wishing to explore the Towers surroundings, we have even cleared the paths leading down to the beach, and although the water is a tad on the cold side it is still very pleasant to sit and watch the sun set.
For the rofl I offer:
1 defunct washer dryer
1 defunct chest freezer
1 defunct upright freezer (they all died at once)
Packaging from replacement freezer and washer (an expensive week! we may eat again sometime in August)
A warm welcome awaits all who dare enter these portals
Evening your nungateship, sorry to hear about your electrical appliance mishaps.
And I hope Queenie come home suitably cheered up.
Gawd what a journey, I must get some pedals fitted on that bicycle !.
Anyhoo for the riffle I have bought one dozen toffee apples ( well just apples on a stick really I licked the toffee off, delicious ) and a video player / recorder circa 1981 ( Betamax format ).
Igor my usual bucket if you please and some toad in the hole ( no gravy ), thanks.
good evening,, fear not igor, you are open! so you have an empty house nungate? i hope you wont be lonely. is the whipped cream the real stuff or the sympathetic kind ?
Hi nungate and Igor, apologies, just got off the phone with family in Bournemouth. Would love a Sunny Evening. We had some sun today but it was accompanied by a vicious wind.
For the rifle I have a packet of Kleenex with balsam, a packet of deodorant wipes (not wanted on voyage) Two AA rechargeable batteries which refuse to recharge and a roll of squished together fruit Polos. Sorry, did lever out the green ones. Also a pink right foot flat mule slipper. If you want the left one as well please advertise in Bournemouth and Montmartre. Has to be somewhere.
Evening Tony, you do seem to like travelling the hard way! You could say we've had one heck of a week! We knew about one freezer and was able to transfer everything to the other (which we hadn't used since moving here) only to find that it too was knacked! Then there was the thing with Queenie. Bright side, her friend from Wolverhampton is staying with us this weekend - lovely lass, and her presence has cheered Queenie no end.
Hi, Daisy, a lost pink slipper eh? I bet some Prince Charming is out there looking for it's owner!!
Nice to have you back with us again, I wouldn't worry about the lateness, I was late myself. I had heaps of time to get things set up and I had my welcome all set out ready to post at 8.00 but when I came back to get it to post it was gone! I had to start again and it was not as much fun as the original, just the bare minimum - eeerghh!
Igor will fetch your bucket presently
Ah, yes we may, Queenie hasn't put away the serving plates from her small "do" for her Avon Ladies the other evening (this was before the devastation of her work and all that) when everyone had a terrific time
When we had almost recovered on Saturday he searched his bedroom, found last year's Christmas and birthday money and that from the Christmas before. Has now ordered and received his own!
He will appreciate that Tony, tough I think we must have some down in the kitchens, do stay a while, have a tailcock?
It's amazing what will concentrate the mind into getting things tidy and neat, with your grandson it was the prospect of a tablet, with Queenie it was having a houseguest - her room and bathroom have never been so tidy!
I expected to find Lord Lucan riding Shergar in there!
