Morning all. How much would I expect to pay for an average Semi detached house. We are thinking of replacing the gutters as well. I know it depends on the size of the house but a rough guess please
I also live in the Leeds area. I don't know about a semi, but I can tell you what we paid last summer for similar work on our 3-bed detached bungalow. We paid £4,873.00 for Upvc fascias, soffits, bargeboards and guttering. Included was a Upvc canopy over the front door, and that would have cost about £650 if we had had that fitted separately. The work took about 3 days.
I had mine done by Fascia Fix UK.Cant remember exact cost but it was very reasonable. It might be worthwhile getting an estimate. Telephone number is 0800 542 8843.
Just found my receipt. Work carried out was 1.supply and fit upvc fascia boards.2.Supply and fit upvc soffit boards.3.Supply and fit upvc down pipe.4.Take away rotten timber where necessary.5,Supply and fit upvc guttering.Total price was £500
Thanks to all that replied. Ric.ror, I will let you know when I get an estimate. I know one thing, I won't be having it done if its going to cost £4,873, that is a lot of money bookbinder. dannyk13, thanks for the number.
When you ask for a rough guess you really are having a stab in the dark.
When you think about it ... it's like me asking .... How much to paint my house... it's just an average house ?
How deep are your fascias ?
How wide are your soffits ?
Is there a bay window involved ?
As baldric say's ''it matters where you are located''. I have 2 relatives who offer the same high class work. One works in the north east and the other in Berkshire.
One charges £90 a day and the other between £250-400 .. and both them and their customers are happy with their charges.
Access to the job will make a big difference ... Have you got a conservatory in the way ?
Where are the gutters 1st-2nd- or third floor... Will a scaffold be needed or does health and safety go out of the window ? ... all these factors will make a difference to the price.
Who is getting rid of the waste ... will a skip be needed ?
None of this information is included in the original question .. so any prices you receive are purely a guesses and the only person who can give you a price is the guy you get round to see the house.
If you want to know the cost of the materials .... thats simple to work out.
(They are actualy really cheap)
On the ground measure across the front of your house ... then measure the length of the side of the house. I expect the rear of the house will be similar to the front of the house. Add all three measurements together and you have the total length required (there will be extras allowing for offcuts).
Call someone who does UPVC cladding, fascias, soffits etc.
Give them your measurements.
If they give you a price over the phone ... stay well clear, because anyone who is worth dealing with will want to see the job.
Good luck.
