Milk out of mattress

My little boy has tipped milk on his mattress and I need advice about what I can use to get the smell and the stain out.

i dont know about getting milk out.  i've injected milk into sofa's and mattresses before - revenge on idiots - and they've ended up throwing the whole thing away.

On "How clean is your house" the other night, they were cleaning stains off of a mattress. They put it on it edge then scrubbed hard with some water and cleansing agent (not sure what). Having got rid of the stains they layed it flat again, put lots of towels over the wetted area, and bounced on top of it for a while getting as much of the moisture out as they could.

You can try sprinkling Borax on it, after slightly dampening the mattress, then allowing it to dry. It might not get rid of the stain, but it will get rid of the smell. I think you can get Borax in Boots.

After sponging and making sure it is dry sprinkle bi carbonate of soda and rubin.  Leave over night and vacuum.  I have had mild spilt in my car and managed to get rid of the smell like that.

Thanks for all the advice.  Hi shaneystar! I am well, very busy and really enjoying the new job.  Like you I dont post very much in CB now as it seems to be a certain few that have taken over with the inane questions!!!!  Never mind, I supposed that is what CB is about!  Hope you are well too and will catch up in another thread soon!

Hi Jo!  Hope you are well.... I am hiding in home and garden, seems like a good place to be... cant keep up with CB at the moment! Just watching and waiting for it to implode!   Someone did suggest soda water to me... going to line the mattress up and probably ruin it trying... ho hum !
