needs feeding...
In the Midlands about 2 weeks ago we had a very sharp frost in the early hours. It caught many plants such as the pieris, choisya, hydrangea, camellia new leaves. I have just trimmed off the affected flowers and leaves, fed and watered the plants.
Has your Pieris 'Forest flame' been growing in its current position for long ?.
Another possible reason is that the variegated leaves have suffered from sun scorch or suffering from lack of rain.
Acidic soil is needed for it to grow well.
at this time of growth and bloom I feed all ericaceous plants weeky..
I have lots of pieris plants, some in the borders for 8 years and 3 in tubs for 6 years. Now that I have clipped out the frost damage I can see new shoots coming.
Thanks for the reminder Minty!.
I must get some ericaceous plant food for my blueberries!
