I have a number of different Astrantia that do well in my garden. Two years ago I planted five Astrantia Major and although the foliage is fine they are putting up very few flowers, less than six each as opposed to one hundred plus that they should have. They are in the right position, am sunlight and pm dappled shade, damp soil. They are not earning their keep and will have to go unless someone can help.

Sun or partial shade seems to be the best position but they may have problems handling dry conditions.
Maybe a mulch will help retain some moisture ?

Thank you Chipchopper. There is no problem with drying out, they are around a bog garden and other Astrantia are doing well.
