Anyone know of a good garden variety with good size flowers or attractive leaf colour ?.
I'm thinking of planting some in my wildlife garden. I've seen some good swathes of it this year, in the wild, as it appears to flourish in damp conditions.
When you google it, most of the info that comes up, is on how to kill it, well I want to positively encourage it.
I have the ordinary variety that is all out in bloom at the moment. I love it, mine is in a really big planter , I leave it and it come up every year, always a welcome sight.
There are dozens of different forms of this from white through to deep orange, singles and doubles and ones with nicely marked leaves.
Sadly the national collection seems to have gone, but I am sure I saw some on sale on Ebay. Try looking up Ficaria verna which is its new name.
