British Gas Tariff

We pay the same amount dual fuel each month,it is now very high, £360 up from £109.. a friend has Exclusive Energy tariff, her British Gas gas bill for the past three months was minuscule. £56. Her last bill for three months was £299. Not sure if her electric bill is extra. Can we change to this tariff, would we need a smart meter, we don’t have one but she has. Bit confused, thanks all.

if she has a good tarriff, you can bet it wont be available now, and she fixed before the price increases. My understanding is that there's no shopping around any mre, and most providers are at the cap

Is your friend possibly on a fixed deal which started before all the price rises.

At the moment, all you can get from any supplier is their standard variable tariff and all suppliers are very much the same.

I can't see the tariff being cheaper...not by that much unless there's is an old fixed one. Have you compared unit rates ....looking at total bill depends on usage

Maybe she only uses gas for cooking. As said you need to compare price per unit and see how many units she uses.
No chance of changing to a cheaper deal at the moment, not with any shpplier

We pay quarterly with Scottish Gas for gas and electricity, due in the next couple of days and currently at £760.48 minus Rishi's bung so expecting to pay just under £600.
We already have a smart meter and last year was about £450 for the same period.
3 bed semi, heating on a timer, 6 hours per day.

You seem to be paying over the odds, do you have a credit balance with them?
