Christmas In The Good Old Days
ChatterBank0 min ago
We have recently bought our first house which is a 2 up 2 down cottage - over 100 years old. We have noticed in the main bedroom that if we shut the window completely one of the walls starts, well, leaking. Not a huge amount of water, almost like its sweating and it smells like vinegar! There are no air vents in the bedroom so I assume it is condensation. If we leave the window on the latch (its double glazed) then it doesnt happen but at the moment its too cold to do that.
Any suggestions on how we can solve this?
Thanks

I've checked and there is no vent in the window at all. We don't have a chimney to open up so thats not really an option. I live the window on the latch during the day, its jst really cold at nightime if I do that. I always leave the door open, doesn't seem to help.
Do you know where I would start in getting someone in to look at this?
