You use them instead of powder in your wash. Anyone any comments please?

i have seen people rave about them in Lakeland Limited, but to be honest i dont think i could use then instead as i love the smell of Ariel and Lenor too much!
I've had clothes washed using these balls and to be honest they work quite well for most things. I would recommend that you use washing powder for heavily soiled clothes but for the majority of clothes that dont really get that dirty they work well.

As to the smell of fabric conditioners, you will find that the clothes do come out smelling of a very light fragrence, quite pleasant really and not overpowering.

Just go down a couple of questions. Look at the stuff going on in the soft towel thread and that should answer the query.

boobesque - getting high on the chemicals then eh? tsk tsk

a quick note for all frugal people.

when you use the tray in the top of your machine a lot of the powder is flushed down into the drum and on down into the outlet pipe. when you use a ball the detergent stays in the ball untill the machine is filled (and the outlet is filled ) then the machine turns and the detergent spills out and mixes with the water in the drum. very little works it's way into the outlet, so little is wasted.

hope this makes sense and helps.

markja - no it doesn't, but a good point!

The replies have been about the mineral sphere filled balls which are an alternative to using powder so removing the use of chemicals completely.
