when do you dig them up,i hav'nt done this for years and i cant remember,there nearly finished flowering.

Actually, you can leave them in the ground as long as you'd like... up to a hard frost, that is. New or small potatoes can be harvestd now, but the longer you let them stay, the bigger they will be. The tops will die back to almost nothing but the spuds will continue to grow...
