The best thing for company type calls, is your phone company, get them to put a 'stop' on your phone, it costs a little, but its worth it.
What happens is, the company's use a computor to dial, and even when there's no-one in attendance, it still dials, so when you pick the phone up, there's no answer.
Costs about a pound a week, depending on your phone company, but you only need to keep it for about three months, thats what I did, and had no calls since,

do as post dog says, join the tps stopped 95% ofcalls. the ones that get through ,if youv'e got time, have a bit of fun with. i got one saying i had been 'specially chosen' i kept them on the line for ten minutes whilst running backwards and forwards making a cup of coffee, transfering them to my office? (just closing the door loudly waitting a minute then opening it and saying i'm now in my office) telling my wife i've been specially chosen in a loud excited voice and asking her how wonderfull that is 'coz i've never been special before! in the end i said got to go, my dinner's ready. bye! never did find out what they were selling. ah well, my loss.
