I saw the biggest spider ever in my bathroom yesterday. I live on the ground floor but there is no window in the bathroom. I am guessing it did not come in the front door and wander into the bathroom, so I am wondering how it got in. All the fittings are new and there are no gaps in the skirting boards. Could it have come up the bath plug hole and climbed up the side? Or could it have come up the hand basin?
I'm not sure I agree that spiders fall off ceilings into baths. When my daughter was about 10 having a bath she watched a massive spider pop out of the overflow into the water. She blocked the holes with tissue for years after. Anyway I've never seen a spider fall off a ceiling ( maybe come down on a thread but the bigs ones don't do that anyway). They are disgusting things whatever they do.
I plug bath & sink overflows with tissue and have a bath and sink plug drainer, they come in white plastic or silver metal type, large and small for basin and bath & kitchen! They're only about 1 each. If you have a Terry's hardware shop they always seem to stock them or if not any hardware even Wickes B&Q etc.. They freak me out too! Don't believe the ceiling walk???? bit sus....
I watched a spider abseiling from the ceiling the other night, perhaps it's a member of the SAS,special air spider.
if so,perhaps there is a group of SBS, special bath spider that is capable of swimming through the u bend. oo er!
