does your machine have a spark plug and air filter?
Both may need cleaning or replacing.
the machine is not bunged up from last year isit with old grass and stuff?
Is your grass a bit too long or is it wet? Lift the blades and do a higher cut then lower them to the normal height.
Make sure the blade isn't catching on anything causing it to cut out.
