Hair dye removal

I'm planning on dying my hair with a permanent black hair dye but as im still at school I dont fancy going in with black stains across my forehead where I didnt put any vaseline.  Does anyone know how to get rid of dye stains on your skin?  I heard that toothpaste works but Im not sure.  Please help!

Just make sure that as soon as you had applied the dye, that you wipe off any excess which is on your skin. Then, as it develops, keep an eye on it. Sometimes it's easy to miss dye which only gets blacker as the time goes on!

Can I just add whatever you do PLEASE test the dye before you use it on your inner elbow or behind the year. I used to dye my hair without any problems but all of a sudden I had an allergic reaction. My reaction to dye is now very servere and if I test dye on my skin it swells & leaves a burn mark and is very irritating. Black dye is also the worst for causing a reaction.

Also slightly off the point but worth mentioning, that pure black is a very harsh colour on most people, unless you naturally have pure black hair, or are going for a goth look. When your roots start showing, they will be paler, and it usually looks like baldness!! If you just want to go dark, I suggest a shade inbetween "blue" black and dark brown- much more forgiving. But that's just my view!!x

milk works well, and if you can stand the smell, cigarette ash works too, but I'd steer clear of that.

 

I've always found that a facial scrub works quite well to lift it. Try with hot soapy water first though, it's a good basic thing to try.  Toothpaste probably works, but i haven't tried it.

try and wash off as much as you can from your forehead, neck, ears after you've applied it and your hair is all tied up waiting for it to delevop.

I find, like Morrisonker, that face cleansers are quite good. Also, on really stubborn stairs i use nail polish remover (rinse your skin with water after and be careful if you have sensitive skin!). I find it always stains my scalp and looks ridiculous, so i use cotton buds dipped in nail polish remover to get rid of the bits in between the hair that are hard to get to!

I know this sounds weird, but sellotap stuck round your hairline works well if you apply it before dyeing and peel off after! Don't forget your ears as they stain the worst. I found that repeatedly using shampoo on any staining worked. Make sure you wear the gloves that come with the dye too!!!
