I had wonderful advice re my knocker and knobs being tarnished and dull, they are a credit to my entry now.
The problem I have is that the flap seems to be made of different stuff and is very tired looking, any ideas?

Flap....Jack -how could you forget him :((
Does he not require a non-stick liner tho Dris. My non-stick has all but rubbed off now :o(

You can get silicon spray for that Ena.

Den, that's how I got my stiff neck!!
Dris - as you are very good on topic picking - should not Mamya have posted this Q in Interiors?
Just a thought...
you have to be careful with cleaners - I hate it when you get that build-up of wax in the corners and have to go after it with a scourer.

Well Ena you are picky today, there are of course inner and outer components, unless yours is different??
Now that is where all my old toothbrushes come in handy, jno. They can reach the parts others cannot.
oh, my old ones have all gone soft, Ena. It's a shame there's nothing really hard around the place any more.
They are better than nothing though, jno. Sometimes I wish they had longer handles on them, but the flexible head is useful.
well, there are all these electronic ones, but it's not the same.
Sometimes I use a sharp cocktail stick to clear out the dried polish from where the vertical meets the horizontal, jno. Women can be so inventive when shove comes to push.
Mamya, just (another) thought.
If you could get your flap up to scratch with a highly polished mirror image - you could always try varnishing it. I use a yacht varnish on mine which repels the ravages of winter storms (if not the seamen)
Mamy - use a mirror..

ttfn - I agree about toothbrushes, but use a Sonic one - you don't have to work so hard and the finish is amazing (:0 D
I seem to have a problem with batteries though DEN - they never last long enough for my liking. I tried the rechargeable type too, but they just don't hold it as I would wish.

Varnish, just the job my it will be the brightest on display and saves on a tilly lamp in the outside lavvy
Are your outer flaps well greased Mamya -I often find that in concentrating on the actual flaps we are apt to forget the whole picture.
Thudddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd
Thuddenly I don't feel so good at the thought of that Dris
Question Author
Well I am known to slide off my chair, so I guess all is well in that department.
ttfn - try a lower speed - you will get the same finish but it may take a little longer....
I am not generally impatient DEN, far from it actually, but I don't know how long I have left.
