Retrieve deleted email

I sent an email and mistakenly deleted it and then emptied the deleted item folder. Is there now any way of recovering it or have I lost it for ever?

My computer says it's lost forever if you have recalled the deleted box and emptied it. Can't you ask the other person to email it back to you?

Unfortunately it was a business thing and I wouldn't want it to be known that I'd lost it. I've re-written it from memory and saved it as a Word doc. Teach me to be more careful in future!!

On my work PC you can go into Tools while in deleted items (in Outlook) and 'recover deleted items' but not on my home e-mail. I suppose it depends what system you have.

Did you look in your sent items folder.
