Hi

I have downloaded a movie from the internet that said it was a wmv file and is 474.993 kb in capacity. The video was downloaded to my laptop and works fine on windows media player but when i transfer it to my memory stick and try to play it on the same laptop but through the memory stick it comes up with the message 'windows media player cannot play this file, the player miht not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file'

does anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it, as i want to play it using my memory stick?

thanks

Try copying it on your laptop to a dvd disc & see how that goes ( the problem could be with the memory stick).

You will have to make sure that the usb stick has the NTFS format or EXFAT as this maybe your problem. You should format it to either of these NTFS is the most popular but you have to have Windows Vista or Windows 7 to do the format XP cant do it.
