As far as I can find out, a US bought ipod will charge fine in the UK using a figure 8 lead, (ie without having to buy a transformer or anything else.) Can anyone confirm this please? Ta.

I got my iPod from the US & either charge it in the car, or from the PC as this is more convenient. However, I have charged it at home too using the original 2 pin US charger, which I plug into a travel socket adapter.

Haven't noticed any problems doing this - I think they're dual voltage.

Like Gilli I use a travel adaptor with the 2-pin plug or a car charger.  It seems to work ok.

The US ipods will definitely work on UK voltage, you can either use a figure 8 lead as you suggest or I am sure you could get one of the little socket converters either from Apple or probably cheaper on ebay.
