National Lottery

Would the National Lottery people check for you to see if a particular set of numbers has ever been drawn for all six numbers or five numbers plus the bonus ball - from the start of the lottery ?

I know I could ask them myself - but just in case anyone on here has made that request .

I know i could also do a print out of past results , but that would be too much trouble/time wading through thousands of results , to check

Of course, given the large number of possible combinations of 6 numbers (over 13 million) or 5 numbers plus a bonus ball ( over 2million), the chances that a given selection of random numbers has occurred so far (after around 2000 draws?) is extremely slim

I have 6 fix numbers which I have used every week for the main draw , from the start of the lottery

Basically i have not always check the result each week to see if these numbers have won anything .
So i would like to know if those fixed numbers have won a big prizes in the past .
If they have , then i would not feel obliged to keep using them in case they eventually win again , as the chances of this happening again would be miniscule .

Of course if they have not won any big prizes then i will feel obliged to keep using them, just in case ( that's the problem of having fixed numbers )

It is not true that the chance of the same numbers appearing again is miniscule. Since the selection is completely random any six numbers can appear at any time whether or not they have appeared before. The machine does not have a memory.

Digressing, and quite interesting, on a recent edition of QI, Stephen Fry said he was going to do something that had never been done before anywhere in the world at anytime since time began. He shuffled a pack of playing cards then said the cards in the shuffled pack had never been in the same sequence ever before.

You've got a much better chance of winning the lottery.

I buy my tickets on-line so I will never miss out should I get a winning ticket of any kind. Saves any problems too if a ticket gets accidentally lost or destroyed.

just pass it to the machine operator to check...do it all the time..if you have a winning ticket still valid then it will tell you
