They are wee mini lamps - Americans use them for their kids for their kiddies to see re going to bathroom etc (electrical) - just placed near the floor. Sister bought me one for Xmas and I hardly used it. But because of looming darkness tonight decided to put it on. The problem is plug is attached to mini-glass shade and to me anyway the heaviness of the wee shade isn't allowing the plug to plug tightly with result it is falling out of socket. Anything I can do. Ta for any replies.

Can you take the shade off it, Conne?
Question Author
Sandy. No - as I said it seems to be attached. Definitely the shade is too heavy for the plug, per se. Con
Would that be a night light? I have had a problem when plugging an adaptor into sockets in hotel rooms in the US (presumably because the sockets are well used and the connections aren`t good). I usually fold up a bit of paper or cardboard and wedge it into the gap between the device and the socket.
Maybe use an extension lead or multi -socket thingy, so the lampshade is not so close to the wall?

237SJ - that is the correct name - night light - (am having senior moments). Thanks for that but for me to go to all that trouble wedging etc - I am much bright light person so when I have visitors please forgive me God for using so much global energy - but I usually use 3 massive lamps - it is part of my deafness too - as I can therefore lipread my friends when they are cross-talking - mind you not cross-dressing - that is private hahahah LOL.
Don't tell anybody I told you, but you can bend the prong(s) very slightly to make the plug fit tighter. Probably not a very technical solution but it works for me.

ok wildwood will try that tomorrow - ta
Get a small extension cable so you can lie the socket flat on the flat, rather than sticking out of the wall - the night light then stays upright. I'd rather do that, than poking about with the plug.
There are plenty of similar nightlights available in any DIY store here in Britain. Some of then look like plugs and are not much bigger. I use one on my upper landing, just outside the bathroom door, because at age 60 I need to get up once or twice a night, just like little kids !
