The Color Red...

I'm sure it fades quicker than other colors but why ?

Black fades pretty quickly too. Especially black jeans.

What is fading, Chip? Flowers? Paint? A new jumper? What?

It certainly does on cars,which is why I would never buy one.

I have heard that it is due to oxidation,but I am not a chemist so I will leave this to others to give the reason.

Is this a subtle reference to Liverpool losing at home ?

Something to do with its wavelength. I remember reading about it recently but can't recall the details. You'll notice things in shop windows that aren't changed regularly will have everything in shades of blue because the red tones have been leached out.

The color in general really Tilly.
For example : cars, T shirts and road signs in particular. I've seen some speed limit signs with all the red faded out but the black numbers fairly well intact.

I'm sure UV rays play a big part in it.

Claret and blue not faded yet this season.
