Right Address Wrong Name
7 Answers
Twice this week a Currier company has tried to deliver a small parcel to me but the name on it is not even close to mine.
Before I spoke to the delivery man, he had left a card to say that I can collect the parcel from the local post sorting office.
All I can say is that the item is from Amazon.
Apart from phoning the post office for advice, I'm not sure what to do about it ?

It is much more likely this is 'fat-finger problem' where the wrong postcode has been entered on the order. Mr X is probably wondering where his order has got to!
Each postcode covers around 20-30 addresses. Does Mr X live at one of those? Some addresses can be similar - even within the same code (my road is one of these).
You could collect the item, contact Amazon and quote the details on the label. They will have Mr X's contact details and can get back to him and get the right postcode. You will probably be able to return the item to Amazon free of charge.
Postcodes are so central to ordering and delivery now, so it is essential that any company you order from has the correct one.
