We (the UK) already have a big problem as our population is aging, so fewer young people's taxation is required to support more old people who are living longer.

The SNP is presumably hoping to turn Scotland into a kind of Norway, with a sovereign wealth fund created out of a huge sack of cash that the "Rump UK" would chuck its way for leaving, that it could then pay pensions out of. But nobody knows how big that sack of cash would actually be, it seems, and I can see the UK playing hard-ball considering the circumstances that the negotiations would be taking place in: the Scots having voted out and all of us still facing the looming pension crisis ...
