Off the ideal channel. A Beldray. It's still under warranty, of 3 years. It's stopped working. They sent out a new battery and filter but that's not helped. I registered it. They can't find any registration under my name or address. They asked for receipt details which I have. Then we got cut off. End of day chat line. Do you think I will get it sorted out ?

What is the problem with the vacuum?
Well done, dave
How long have you had the Beldray? What did you have to do to register it?
tamaris bought the vacuum less than 3 years ago and posted the 3 year guarantee registration to the company who claim they never received it. She does have the receipt

The email addresses are not working
oh dear - maybe he changed them after getting too many complaints. Try texting his mobile?
BARRY, I appreciate that. Goods have to be fit for purpose and if a fault develops within six month of purchase, the retailer has to prove the fault wasn't there when purchased.
After six month, the owner has to prove it did.

It might be that the warranty registration was posted and then confirmed by e-mail or it was all done by e-mail.

If that were the case, it would be an idea to search the e-mails.
I have a Beldray Airgility Vac - there is a label on it that says if you have a problem DO NOT RETURN IT TO THE PLACE YOU PURCHASED IT.
Contact [email protected] & a phone number.
with on line buying (ebay etc.) it will often be difficult to refer back to the retailer so the manufacturer must take responsibility.

I bought it off the telly ideal channel. I managed to get him on his phone he said leave a mess, which I did
BTW - when I bought my vac there was no mention of registration.
davebro, consumer law says different. Unless you buy direct from the manufacturer the contract is with the retailer.
consumer law is outdated
and in this case the manufacturer itself says to bypass the retailer!
The manufacturer can't overrule the law. Always it is the retailer that is liable if there is a problem with the goods, there has to be a contractual relationship that is formed between buyer and seller.
Outdated or not, it's the law.
Get real - the law is an ass! Let's see how tamaris gets on.
tamaris, have you thought of posting a review on Trust Pilot? Some firms respond very quickly to well-worded, factual, "negative" reviews and may well give you details of whom to contact next.
I'm hoping that Beldray collect the vacuum cleaner and return it repaired.

Oh joy !!!
The email didn't work but I got hold of Simon showman ceo and left a message on his mobile. About an hour or so after, I recieved a very humble message from beldray customer services, apologising and saying that the would like to send me a spanking brand new vacuum. I left another message for Simon thanking him. I don't know if he had anything to do with it but it seems very likely he intervened. Thank you all for your help in this matter x Happy From Brighton
