Has the postman stolen my letter?
Last month I bought an Isle of Wight festival ticket online. The ticket was dispatched registered post, and I thought nothing more of it until all of my friends received theirs and I didn't. I waited 2 weeks before calling the ticket sellers, who gave me a tracking code which I used on the Royal Mail site. It gave me the exact date they tried to deliver the letter, but I never received a red "while you were out" card. I went to my local sorting office (in Brighton) who said they couldn't find it, nor could they trace it but said "it was here, but isn't anymore". I tried the ticket sellers again who said they had received nothing back. No-one seems to accept responsibility and now the festival has sold out. I'm truly gutted as I can't afford to buy another one on eBay etc. What can I do to get to the bottom of this? I've lodged a complaint with Royal Mail, but had no reply so far...

they should claim for the loss to from the p.o.
if the ticket was bought using a credit card they are jointly responsible so you may be able to claim from them. also if you have any other losses they can possibly be claimed for as well.
After 14 days of waiting you can fill out a claims form (available from the post office) which you can fill out and send to Royal Mail who will try and sort out this missing post.
Also it is the sellers responsibility to give you your money back for missing mail. By sending the post the seller has entered a contract with Royal Mail. They should give you your money back and obtain a refund from Royal Mail.
If you happen to see highlights of this festival on the TV and there is your local postman present then you know he nabbed your ticket.
If they sent it recorded delivery - someone must have signed for it. Can they get a copy of that, date and timed too - then could you use that to prove it wasn't you? Ie. I work tuesdays so couldn't have signed for it and no one else was home?
Other than that, make as much fuss as you need to until they send you out another ticket - surely these are numbered or something so they can cancel the old ones? Actually, thinking about the events I've been to recently, maybe they are not numbered. .....
