Scorch marks!

Can anyone tell me how i can get faint scorch marks out of a white dressing table surface? I left my straighteners on the surface and there are very faint (but annoying) scorch marks.

Any suggestions will be appreciated

burns are very hard to remove, as they do not simpally stain the material, like other stuff does, but scorch marks are when the material's composistion is permantly altered....

Rubbing with lemon juice or white vinegar might possibly help fade the mark but won't necessarily get rid of it completely.
