How easy is it to get a patent put down on something and how much does it cost? I've been on the UK Patent Website and it seems a bit dawnting. Do I have to go through a solicitor and how long does it take? Thanks.

Cant give you anything specific but I know its seriously expensive and takes a lot of time. There was somebody asking a question on the BBC website and the expert said that unless you think its going to make you serious money then its a very expensive and risky thing to do (Risky in a financial sense). Also you need to do some research to make sure your idea isnt already in production/research somewhere else.
