im due to go t o court as a witness but i am being intimidated and really dont want to go is there any way out no one ever clearly explained to me that i would HAVE to go to court

Yes, you don't have to testify. Noone can make you speak. Withdraw your statement you gave to the police. It should have been made clear that you may have to go to court if you give a statement. You should have also signed a form stating any dates (If any) you would not be free to attend court.

More importantly, if you are being intimidated then you can speak to the police who will take actions against those responsible. Intimidating witnesses is a criminal offence.

It is imperative that you notify the police officer in charge of the case. The police are duty bound to investigate such intimidation.

You can always give evidence by video link but if known to the "accused" and his/ her side would you be safe? tell the police about the intimidation good luck x

Intimidation of a witness is a serious offence and, as the earlier replies said, should be reported immediately to the police or the CPS.
