I have purchased a TV aerial for my car that requires direct power from the battery. How can I wire it so that it is not a constant drain on the battery when not in use? Could I split the wires which power the head unit?

why not get it wired into the ignition.

i wired my dvd player to the hazard warning lights/indicators.

that way i can still watch it with the engine turned off. I suppose it depends on what model you have and how it's wired.
