Just wondered if the likes of Richard Hammond have tried to see what would happen when you put a coconut in a microwave. Anyone know, or tried it?

A rather large bang .. and no Microwave left to cook on, I would think. The milk inside would vaporise and turn it into one large grenade!

Thanks Panic Button. I'll hang fire for a couple of days and see if anyone out there already has a link to an existing demonstration but failing that I might well drop 'em an email. I can't afford to try it myself unfortunately.

Thanks Panic Button. Yeh, i think I see what you might mean. I really shouldn't be encouraging Jackass wannabee t@ssers like these to do this kind of stuff. Although it's quite interesting what does happen, though not at all dramatic. Wonder what would happen if the outer husk casing is left on....?
