burns dvd+r but not dvd-r

I have a DVD burner that is meant to burn DVD +and -. However when i tried to burn onto a - disc it failed. However when I did it to a + disc it worked. I know that the discs have worked on other DVD burners. Does anyone know why this might be, or do you think I might have a faulty burner that is not working properly. Thanks

what burn software are you using ? try doing a test burn it will tell you where the problem lies
