I had my first session this morning.  I was surprised that the needles didn't hurt even when they were jiggled about a bit.

The lady said I might need another one or two sessions to feel the benefit.

So they're booked.

It's too soon yet to know if the first session has done me any good.  I'll just have to wait and see.

Just don't go for a pint until they're all healed !

May I ask why you are having the treatment? Hope it works for you

barry1010,

I have a pain in my hip which I thought was arthritis.  I saw a physio and she said she thought it was more likely to be a problem with the back.

She didn't recommend acupuncture but I thought I'd give it a try.

It may do no good but I suppose it can do no harm.

My GP (now, sadly, retired) used to give me acupuncture for my problem back.  I had a series of 6 sessions. It took a little time, but they definitely worked for me. GP said she knew about pain pathways, but hadn't a clue why acupuncture worked for some people but not others.  No-one does it now so  I may have to go privately.

Constant pain is miserable, sandy.

Had it for a problem which was giving me incapacitating headaches ( not migraine)  Normal analgesia hadn't helped.   It took about twelve sessions combined with moxibustion.    I am definitely a believer.
