Local butchers could vanish as so few young people are coming into the trade, their are no successors to take over the their shop when they retire, young people want more glamorous and easier jobs, very sad

Not just butchers nearly all trades are the same, very few school leavers want to train in a trade , the government is putting far too much emphasis on sending school leavers to University. Many of them are not really up to the required standard and will leave Uni with a poor degree that is valueless but still with a student loan to repay.
In the supermarket if you ask for a piece of meat of a certain weight they ask you where they should cut it. Isn't that what they are paid to know? Also friend who has lifetime in the business oftens notices meat labelled incorrectly
