Could someone please explain what is slim and fat forging?
I have been googling all day and could not find any details.

Newbie trained as a metallurgist and never came across those terms for types of forging
Have you googled FATT forging

I got a feeling that it's to do with the shape (slim or fat) of the metal before being forged. ??? I wonder this determines the tensile strength of the metal being forged.
