I've just signed up with this agency and at first they asked if I could start this warehouse job I showed you a description of a few weeks ago but they want me to start sooner than 2 weeks which is notice I'm suppose to give. Just finished signing up with them. What do I do?

I think a packing job might be more suitable for abbey.

Take it and try it for 3 months. In that time you'll earn as much as you would in a year at Selco. If it works out, great; if it doesn't work out at least you'll have boosted your savings in that period and maybe picked up some more skills or realised areas where you need to improve or should avoid in future.

Desk I've reported you

Abbey, is there an interview lined up for the warehouse job? If so... good luck!

Abbey originally posted "I've just signed up with this agency and at first they asked if I could start this warehouse job".

Initially I read it that they had offered to place her in the role, but now I'm wondering if Abbey is getting ahead of herself because perhaps the agency may just want to put her forward, or maybe put her in there on ashort term /trial basis as an agency temp until the post is filled.

NMA, I asked Abbey because the question title/heading says 'if I get it', so it didn't seem definite.

Yes, it's not clear is it. The point "they want me to start sooner than 2 weeks" also gave me the impression initially it was hers if she could start soon, but I now think it's not a definite offer at all, so abbey could end up with no job if she's not careful.

No they haven't offered me the job just told as I hadn't singed up with them and said if anything comes up they will contact.

I'm not leaving my job until I get another offer elsewhere.

Selco take people back if they leave on good terms.

That's good.  Take care to leave on good terms.  I agree with naomi - a packing job would suit you very well.

I've pressed report and done what the rest says to do.

So the whole thread was a waste of time... you were nowhere near being offered that job so all that angst and our advice might have been unecessary?

Question Author

Jour I think I would enjoy it to just limited jobs for that.

Question Author

New no they wanted to but I didn't know weather to do what they say leave now or work my notice as they wanted me to start ASAP if I took it.

I've reported Deskdiary too.

Unfortuanately reports aren't read until the EDs come to work on Monday, but perhaps a mod could intervene now.

Hopkirk thank you

Abbey, is there anything in your life that you feel combfotable with and can control? You seem to me a lovely person... but please ignore what others think of you... they're just opinons.

Go from where you feel combfotable at...
