what do I put in my speculative letter.. or even what do I write in a letter to the manager of a job which I'm trying to get back? I as only part time and needed a lengthy family holiday and some time off for college work, now I want it back and the store has a new manager..

Would the old manager give you a reference?

had you been told the job would be yours when you wanted to return? or had you resigned and now need to re-apply?
(by the way, posting this 8 or 9 times with different wording may help you get more answers lol) x
Not very helpful one though!

lol cheers red i'll remember that for future reference!! lol. I resigned and now want to re apply!! dappy I know but I need some cash over christmas! my old manager gave me a reference but she was abit useless to be honest. I've written a speculative letter (is that what you call it...??) explaining my situation and a copy of my CV and the reference the old manager gave me.. fingers crossed!
best of luck to you loukr, you managed to do the job well first time around so you have that history in your favour. You may need to explain in detail your reason for leaving (at interview stage i reckon not before) so they dont think you are a flighty employee who will leave soon after they employ you.

I hope it all works out
