I'll try and describe this in the best possible way...

For a cumalative last 8 years i have worked for the same company. I worked there when i was at school, college and carried on their afterwards...(although i did briefly work for another company for a short spell in the middle.) Anyway, i wasnt in the same job the whole time i got promoted within those 8 years.

The job was OK but i wasnt stretching myself and for that and a few other reasons i left 6 months ago.

Had a few weeks off as i was not sure what i wanted to do work wise but eventually took a job that i got offered as it looked good on paper and i needed to start bringing in some money again.

Been working for this company for nearly 4 months and to be really honest i find the job as dull as dish water!

The few people that i have talked to about my predicament tell me to stay working there because it pays the bills. ...and believe me i know my responsibities and that i have to work.

What i think i feel is that im young (just 24) and not married with no kids. To add to the situation i have lived with a guy for the last 4 years and who i love dearly but only as a friend.

I guess i am wanting a bit more from life...some adventure maybe??? and a job that i enjoy...everyone tells me though that if u can find a job that you enjoy and that it pays the bills that you are very lucky!! But im not sure if i believe that?

Its not just about the job...im bored in general and i think life is to short to waste!

I guess im just looking for some opionions on it from some fellow ABers! Feel free to be as honest as you like.

Thank you in advance

I would suggest two things:

1) have a chat with your current employers and tell them that the job really isn't fulfilling you and is there anything else you can do to improve the situation or to stretch you that much more.
2) you look for another job whilst still employed

The trouble is, the more you keep shifting, the worse it is going to look on your CV.
Join the ARMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go travelling! it was the best thing i ever did and it completely got me out of a rut and gave me the perpective to decide what i really want out of life! Why not save up and head off after xmas when most people are settling into yet another year of the same old same old thing!!!??
