I am an American and have found it extremely difficult to get a working visa and a job in England. I was told I need a company to hire me and sponsor my visa... I have a BA in international business management and would like to come work in England for a few years while I am still young, good-looking and single. Does anyone have any suggestions

hi Bladski
Have just read all the responses to your question and maybe the young and good looking bit put folk off. I dont have a magic bullet but think that a way in may be for you to try another EU country first perhaps with a European employer who can aid your relocation to the UK.

Wish you well

Remy
who told you that you are good looking?????
oooh he is Caz i've seen a piccie that he posted of himself, he's lovely :))
Bladski: It looks as if your question is being hijacked. There are several ways you can obtain a working visa for the UK. The first is as youve stated, being sponsored. There are companies who will do so. However, the company would most likely need your stateside experiences to meet their needs for example, if you have an extensive history of hospitality management training, you could be sponsored here.

The next option is coming here on a student visa attending a higher-education course. Within the context of that visa you would be entitled to work.

You could also gain a post here through a US concern. There are actually quite a few of those advertised in port-of-entry cities, as well as the WSJ and FT.

I wish you every success

I appreciate your answers... I will check into your suggestions thanks :)
Do you have any preference for the type of work you want to do. I am in an international organisation that does everything connected with airlines - flight operations, ticketing, cargo, baggage etc etc. We are always taking people on, but it may not be your type of thing.

I am basically interested in any job that pays a decent salary... I am not looking to live there permanently or make a life long career... I basically just want to live there for a few years and have a decent job.
join a company like ups and you can transfer to uk legitimatly they have depots all over uk.
George's suggestion is a good one. You can also look at my company's website - SITA - and see if any of the jobs interest you. They have offices all over the world and they are good on benefits like cheap travel.
