Does anybody think that the new Child Protection legislation being introduced in Oct 2009, obliging anybody supervising children under the age of 16 to undergo Criminal Records Bureau vetting at the cost of 64 per individual will mean the end of Work Experience programmes? I can't imagine that employers who are already struggling under the recession, will be prepared to fork out 64 for each employee supervising a schoolchild, especially when they don't gain much advantage from running these schemes anyway. The only losers will be the schoolchildren - precisely those this new Act was supposed to be "protecting". Has the government got it wrong again?
maybe they can reclaim ,this 64 ,,,, CRB , check , from the government ,,,,,, for example "LONE PARENTS " , looking to get back to work , thru JOB CENTRE PLUS DIRECTIVE , maybe ,,,,, able to reclaim this 64 back ( I WONDER WHAT SORT OF POLICE RECORDS the under 16s have ..... carrying an offensicve weapon , - stealing cars , ASBO orders ,,,, !!!! )
The requirements from October are for anybody working with a child needing to be registered with ISA. I have had this checked out with lawyers and this includes work experience. There is no requirement for CRB though.
