Anyhow, as somebody who has smoked quite a lot of weed in the past, including the stronger strains of skunk I can state with some authority and confidence that you do not want to be driving after smoking weed and I certainly wouldn't want to be in a car or on the same roads with anyone else that has! it's enough of a chore to put the kettle on and make a cuppa let alone be in control of a 2ton weapon on wheels.

Not all the weeds have a higher thc level than they did, this is normally something the government use as spin, there is a documentary called the union that was made in Canada, and is unbiased and they have statements from ex police, ex politicians and scientists that all state how safe weed actually is. If you've never seen this I suggest you do it's an eye opener.
As bedknobs says if it for a friend why am I bothered, I'm bothered because I hate the fact that the government tries to lie to the masses that something is bad for you when it's not, drugs that can kill you should be banned no question, but hemp is an amazing plant that can be used for so many things from paper, cloths, rope, too many for me to list really. I do think that if the oil companies didn't stand to lose so much it would be legal but someone somewhere is getting payed a lot to keep it illegal.

No eddie it's not me, as I've said.
Sizzlesquid, the fields Dris mentiond are not hemp they are weed, they are used in an attempt to synthesise the medical benefits of the plant which they have failed at, yes there is a spray for people with ms but it doesnt work as well as the plant, and at £100 a bottle is pretty expensive. And the plant can help so many more people in pain than ms sufferers.
Pinkilady would you care to elaborate on how I'm an idiot?

I dont have a problem with Weed and used to be a big schmoker back in the day but i wouldnt advise driving on it or being a passenger of someone who has been on the sticky icky either! Although i used to drive really slowly whilst under the influence i used to get easily sidetracked by things going on around me and often wondered how i had managed to get home in one piece without injuring myself of more importantly anyone else.
As others have also said a lot of the weeds around now are far stronger and more powerful strains of anything we are used to or previously had access to. I know of plenty of people who grow their own purely for themselves, not to supply, as prices have rocketed up in my area over the last 5/10 years. Some of these set-ups are really rather sophisticated and are quite impressive. I think if someone wants to grow their own weed on/in their land/property for their own consumption they should be allowed to do so. I do think the Law and Media have done their usual trick and blown it all out of proportion and would probably do a lot better by going after Alcohol and the damage that does week in week out but then they might not reap the vast amount of taxes that the sale of booze generates for them?!

On a serious note, I smoked a bit as a teenager and then grew out of it. Other guys I know have continued to smoke regularly, we are now in our late 20's and I dont know if it is me, but they appear out of touch with reality a bit. They are not motivated or interested in seeing the world, better themselves, new experiences, progressing at work etc... The sort of things that I am striving to achieve so as to be comfortable and satisfied in life. Coincidence, I dont think so. I worry that it is the drug and that in 20 years time they will be even less motivated, still living with their parents with only a couple of marbles knocking about up top!
