Need To Find Someones Address

a tenant left my property owing me hundreds in rent and damages. I need to find their new address so I can make a court claim.

She has a very unusual surname so its not a problem finding her but she is still registered on the electoral role at my address so everytime I do a search it just comes up with that.

How do I search for a new address?

Failing that, pass it to a debt recovery agency.

If she owes £100s in rent and damages she is not going to register on the electoral role if she has any sense and does not want to be found.

Yep, totally understand where you're coming from... but... if she doesn't want to register on the electoral roll due to unpaid rent, there's minimal chance she's respond to any Facebook messages from her ex landlord.

I don't think she is the kind of person with the knowledge or intelligence to think about the fact that if she registers she'll be traceable. guess I'll just have to wait. Is there really no other way?

I have never found it worthwhile - to sue an ex-tenant for arrears once you have got them out.

they still dont pay and most of them dont have the moolah in the first place

Even if don't get the money at least she'll have a CCJ on her credit file
which may not seem like much but it's something!

And she owes me in the region of £2k so if I do get her address then I'll get
the judgement and go down the high court bailiff route

The old adage is "don't sew a man of straw". In this case a woman. It will cost you in time and money but she'll plead poverty. Indeed once sewed she will make sure she has no money.
Write it off as a bad debt.

Wow 2k springbulb! I withdraw my earlier advice but only just because you or your agent should not have allowed the debt to reach that level.
Another view is to put the 2k into perspective as a percent of your total past rental profit(s) - if tiny % still forget it. After all it still boils down to you not getting yoour £2k back from a moonlight flitter.

Also you could get an attachment of earnings order if she has a job rather than the bailiffs. Just a question was there a deposit if so what happened to it?
