Hi my boyfriend went to a man's house for a drink there was 2 other men who are drug and alcohol users past convictions and charges my boyfriend only had a drink no drugs he has no previous convictions only 1 charge which was battery. So what I heard there was an argument not sure who started it he got hit round the head with a weapon from behind and knocked unconscious causing 2 lacerations above his eye 2 black eyes and his nosed pushed to the sidehe does not know who did it then as he was waking up somebody was on top of him so in self defence my boyfreind lashed out but that man was sent to hospital with facial injuries and had to have facial surgery. But my boyfriend was arrested there and then while he was still dazed and dizzy from the attack. He was sent in remand two days later and charged him with section 18 but the victim and the other man have robbed and attacked people before and they are known to the police my boyfriend got refused bail at magistrates then again on his plea hearing which is so unfair he should not be on remand as he was attacked with a weapon is it possible he could get judge in chambers before his trial date which his trial is the 1st December 2016 also the witness who was there has dropped his statement

By law hws got every right to defend himself what would you a have done? When two men did that to you you would kick or punch out stupid this site is my boyfriend gets attacked and he's to blame because he defends hiself?
He has a right to defend himself using reasonable force. It is for the jury to decide whether the force used was reasonable.

Just because no one can give you the answer you want doesn't make it wrong or stupid. The posters on here have not seen the evidence - only your bfs solicitor and your bf (and possibly his barrister if he has one yet) will have seen everything. Only his legal team will be able to advise properly.
I'm giving up on this one Barmaid, I have already explained the same points you raise but it is totally ignored.
1991 just a word of warning, if you give evidence in court and display the same belligerent attitude you show on here I can virtually guarantee your BF will be found guilty . You need to stay calm and only give the facts that you actually know ,rather than what you assume !

They have the weapon that was used to attack him it's a metal bar yeah they hot him on the side of the face with it from behind he must of hit his face hard on the floor but still they should be the ones on remand for attacking him with a weapon in the first place he only used his feet to get them off so you telling me just because my boyfreind has a past of violence he is guilty of this offence? It's out if order what has he world come to
No one has said he is guilty of anything. I suggest you go back and re read some of the answers. Then read them again.
This is a wind-up isn't It?
EDDIE - (face palm!)

I was voicing concern for his welfare, but thinking about it I'm sure he would have received any medical attention that was needed even on remand so I will worry no more about it.
