The only thing you can do Robby is explain to them as politely as you can that the ball has hit you whilst trying to relax in your own garden and it is destroying plants and hope for the best ...... Good luck.
If the balls keep going over the fence then the children have outgrown the garden....if the parks are anke deep in broken glass then ensure that it is cleaned up...it may well be the councils job. I fail to see why children cannot be brought up to consider their neighbours...heaven help the childrens neighbours in the future...... Most cities have open space within walking distance for families to go to...The best excuse yet is that the streets are full to brimming with paedophiles....the answer is to go with the children....
It is their garden they are playing in MallyH why should they go to a park!
We are only getting one side of the story it could have been an accident that the ball came over . It could have come over a couple of times, the OP could be a grumpy neighbour who dislikes the children (lets face it we have a few on here) and is over reacting!
However whatever is going on - it is still the kids right to play in their garden and not be forced into a park - outgrown the garden is a silly comment!
