Parking outside neighbours house.
A newish neighbour, who lives 150 metres down the road, has taken to parking his car and his work van outside my house. I keep and pay for a proper garage nearby just so that I don't clog up the road with my own vehicle. But what makes it worse is that this neighbour has a huge empty grass verge in front of his house (he'd presumably prefer to plough up mine), he has a side alley AND a back alley - plenty of room to park his two vehicles. And as he lives on the other side of the road and 12 properties down, would I be petty/legally valid in asking him to park his two vehicles elsewhere.

you could complain to the council about him parking on the grass verge but if other neighbours park on the grass it could cause problems with your neighbours .

I'm not saying you should, and i'm not saying you shouldn't, but if his vehicles were constantly vandalised at your end of the road he'd stop parking there. Nothing major, just, say, letting down two tyres on each (bet like everyone else he's only got one spare tyre).
Or key the paintwork. Or break a headlight every day.

Unfortunately if this neighbours vehicles are legally taxed and tested then he has a right to park on the road outside your property unless:- he is parked in a dangerous manner or causing an un-necessary obstruction. If he is parking on the grass then this is a local authority issue for them to deal with, they could write him a letter asking him not to park on the grass, however he will probably park on the road still outside your house. If he is parked on the grass does this cause people to walk off the pavement onto the grass or into the road to get past, if so this will be considered causing an un-necssary obstruction for which he could receive a 30 fixed penalty
