I only work 10 hours a week. My employer says I'm not entitled to any holiday pay. Is this true? I've been with the company for over a year and I do get paid bank holidays. Thanks in advance. Dave.
Everyone is entitled to 4 weeks paid holiday per year. If your working week is 10 hours then your are entitled to 10hrs x 4 = 40 hours holiday. This is the law and your employer must allow all employees the minimum.
In fact it's gone up now, 4.8 x 10 hrs = 48 hours entitled.
Furthermore, Bank Holidays are not statutory paid holidays and may form part of your 4.8 weeks, although if traditionally they have been treated as extra paid holiday within your Contract of Employment they cannot be rescinded without your agreement.
