I work for the NHS and they've decided to increase our hours from 35 to 37.5 in line with some other NHS employees. Unfortunately they're going to pay us the same wage. Thats an extra 130 hours/year for nothing. Is this legal? Unions are a waste of time. I thought about writing to the European Court.. Help!! BB PS I haven't signed my new contract yet.
Sounds like a collective agreement made iwth teh union. It's quite common nowadays for firms to renegotiate Ts and Cs. But I bet this isn't the only change- I expect the whole package has been reviewed and there will have been some gains and some losses. We recently lost some allowances but gained an extra few days holiday.
