I've worked for Tescos for nearly 17 years and one of my shifts is 4 till 9pm on a sunday. Since I started there the hourly rate for Sunday is double. I know that for for new starters this isn't the case anymore. Last night we were told that all our shifts will be starting at 10pm in a months time. I'm absolutely gutted because that means I will now be working from 10pm till 3am only getting 2 hours at double rate!! Can anyone give me any advice as to whether I have any rights. I am a member of the union. Thanks in advance

My advice is phone the union's nearest office. They'll tell you if Tesco can alter your shifts. (sorry, but I think Tesco probably are within their rights to do that) Even so, it's likely that someone in the union office will phone Tesco, on our behalf, to see if anything can be done. ASK THE UNION TO PHONE TESCO FOR YOU.
