Single Status, as the exercise in Local Government is called, is to remove the inequality from pay, primarily as a defence to Equal Pay/Equal Value claims. Health Service went through the same process which called Agenda for Change. Job Evaluation should be an objective way of measruing the value of jobs rather than the people performing those jobs.
