Statutory Maternity Pay

I am currently a civil service who is about to start work for another governmental department. I am aware that this is a continuation of service. However, I am still entitled to receive Statutory Maternity Pay as my child is due this December!

Please help!

I'm starting a new job in four weeks time and my baby is due on the 15th of December. Am I still entitled to receive Statutory Maternity Pay? My new role will be in a different governmental department but it is a continuation of civil service. I am aware that other entitlements such as pension are not effected is this the same with maternity?
Can't see any reason whatsoever that maternity pay would be affected if in all other respects it's a continuation of the same employment.

Many thanks Skyline D. However, the employment is not the same. For example if I were to leave the UK Border Agency (Croydon) for the Department of Work and Pensions (Southwark) will I still be entitled to receive the maternity pay even though I am new to the department? If I was not currently a civil servant, I know that the answer would be no.
So the issue is does your new job count as continuous employement with your current job, which is largely an internal conitnuity of employment issue. I would suggest you talk to your HR, Establishment or whatever they call Personnel in your organisation to find out, now. I am sure you will not be the first person to ask the question!
